Whether you’ve come here looking for me, or whether you’ve just stumbled over my cyber threshold, I’m very pleased to have you here.
My name is Scott Kaiser, and I’ve been a theatre professional for more than 25 years.
I’ve spent most of that time at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, where I’ve been a member of the artistic staff since 1993, and where I currently serve as the Director of Company Development.
During my years at the Festival, I’ve had the opportunity to work on nearly 100 plays in one capacity or another—as a voice and text coach, as a director, as an adaptor, and, once upon a time, as an actor.
Season after season, I’ve been lucky enough to make my living by grappling with plays—not sitting by myself at a desk or poring over books in a library, but working in rehearsal rooms and theatres, collaborating with some of the finest actors, directors, and designers in the business.
In the process, I’ve also worked on every play in Shakespeare’s canon—all 38 of them.
This site is meant as a place for me to share my work—with my colleagues, with people who have a passion for Shakespeare, and with folks who love the theatre.
I hope that you’ll find something interesting, something useful, or something inspiring here.
And I hope to continue to add more to this site as time moves on.
So enjoy your visit—and if you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
May fair thoughts and happy hours attend on you!
